Cruise in the Canary Islands
Canary Islands, Spain
The Canary Islands are called the islands of eternal spring. It is never cold or too hot here. The week will be very busy: we will find out what real yachting is in the ocean with full sails, say hello to friendly whales and curious dolphins.
On the shore we will walk in subtropical forests and along black volcanic beaches, climb one of the highest volcanoes in the world - Teide, rent a car and explore the picturesque islands from the inside.
After a safety briefing, we set off for a sail to the sunny and sheltered bay of Los Cristianos. Here is the large beach of Las Vistas and the beginning of a long promenade that stretches across several cities along the ocean. A great place for swimming, water activities, sitting at the bar and watching sunsets. We spend the night at anchor.
Early in the morning we can stop by the fish shop in the port of Los Cristianos to stock up on a fresh catch from the local fishermen for lunch. And after breakfast we go to Los Gigantes. Nearby is one of the must-sees of the island of Tenerife – the Masca Gorge, which begins in the village of the same name. You can visit the village with a beautiful view or go trekking (you must book in advance). Don't forget to bring a windbreaker and wear comfortable shoes!
Coastal day. After active sailing days, we can spend this day exploring the northwestern part of Tenerife. We rent a car and go to the highest point in Spain - the Teide volcano. We will drive along the northern side of the island and see completely different landscapes than we are already used to seeing in the south of the island. We will visit the ancient town of Garachico, which was almost destroyed and rebuilt after the last volcanic eruption. We'll stop for lunch at one of the local restaurants, which are called "Guachinche" here. Unique unforgettable impressions of this day are guaranteed!
We wake up early, have breakfast and go to the greenest island of the archipelago - La Gomera (transition about 4 hours). After lunch this day we will be standing in the beautiful marina of the city of San Sebastian de la Gomera, observing whales and dolphins along the way. By the way, interesting fact! It was from this island that Christopher Columbus went to India and eventually discovered America, which is why many streets, libraries, churches, cafes and almost everything are named after this famous navigator.
We set off to explore the island in pre-rented cars. We will visit the mesmerizing observation deck at the Mirador Abrante restaurant. We'll go trekking through relict forests, which are included in the UNESCO heritage list. We'll stop at the beach for a swim and have lunch at a local fish restaurant.
After a leisurely awakening and breakfast, we set off for the passage to the home marina Amarilla Golf. Along the way we see whales and dolphins; if desired, we can go for lunch and swimming in one of the bays. We arrive at the home marina before 18:00. In the evening there is a final dinner, an exchange of impressions, and gatherings until late.
