Yacht Management by SailMe: A True 50/50 Partnership
Year-round profitability (Balearic Islands + Canary Islands), full sharing of operational risks, and flexible conditions for investors. We take care of your yacht as if it were our own, because we share its maintenance costs with you.
Why Standard Programs Work Against You
Most large charter companies offer a 65/35 revenue split model. At first glance, it looks profitable: you get 65% of the income. But the fine print hides the main catch—the owner pays 100% of the operational expenses.
If the yacht's sails wear out, the diesel engine needs repair, or the boat needs a haul-out, the company still takes its 35%, and you pay the bills out of your pocket. As a result, at giant bases, boats are worked to the bone, and the investor bears all the financial risks.
The SailMe Approach: A True Joint Venture
We have abandoned the assembly-line approach in favor of boutique service and honest partnership. Our model is 50/50.
- Shared Income: We split the net charter revenue 50/50.
- Shared Expenses: Marina fees, insurance, spare parts, and minor repairs are divided equally.
- Full Service Included in Expenses: Annual comprehensive technical maintenance (engine service, general maintenance) and scheduled haul-outs with antifouling are paid directly from the yacht's charter revenue (50/50). You do not have to pay extra out of pocket.
- Our Mutual Interest: It is financially disadvantageous for us to cut corners on maintenance or ignore defects. We pay for the service together with you, so SailMe's technical teams keep the fleet in impeccable condition. Your yacht will retain a high residual value even after 5–6 years of operation.
Two Bases and Location Choice: Year-Round Income
While other fleets sit idle in the Mediterranean during winter, bringing owners only mooring losses, the SailMe fleet operates 12 months a year. Years of experience allow us to guarantee record booking rates: up to 95% in the summer season and up to 80% in winter.
- Flexible Location Choice in Summer (Balearic Islands): You choose which of our bases your boat will operate from between May and October—the vibrant Ibiza or the picturesque Mallorca (our new base in Palma de Mallorca).
- Off-Season (Atlantic Challenge): Paid 1,500-nautical-mile offshore crossings that fully cover logistics and fuel costs.
- Winter (Tenerife, Canary Islands): Stable and high ocean charter booking rates from November to April.
6 Owner's Weeks Across Different Bases
The Owner's Weeks program at SailMe gives you ultimate travel freedom. You get 6 weeks a year for personal vacations and can easily combine cruising areas:
- Summer: Explore the coves of Formentera and Ibiza, or sail along the Tramuntana mountain range in Mallorca.
- Winter: Fly to your own boat in Tenerife and sail between the Canary Islands on ocean swells.
Which Yachts Are We Looking to Manage?
Our data from previous seasons shows that the highest profit margins in a two-base model come from two segments:
- Large Monohulls (46–51 feet, 4–5 cabins): The absolute champions of year-round bookings (Oceanis 46.1, Oceanis 51.1, Sun Odyssey 490/519).
- Modern Catamarans (40–45 feet): The top earners for the Balearic Islands (Bali, Excess, Lagoon), generating maximum revenue during the summer.
