You will earn your ISSA Offshore Skipper certificate in real-world conditions, navigating the ocean and Mediterranean waters. This route is ideal for those who want to confidently take their skippering skills to the next level.
What Will You Learn During the Crossing?
During the journey, you will immerse yourself in the key aspects of offshore yachting:
- Navigation and Planning: Using charts, GPS, and long-distance routes.
- Meteorology: Analyzing weather and making decisions in changing conditions.
- Watchkeeping and Crew Management: Organizing watchstanders and teamwork.
- Offshore Safety: Specific precautions and emergency procedures.
- Practical Skills: Sail handling, maneuvering, mooring, and anchoring in a variety of conditions.
Theoretical lessons take place directly onboard the yacht, integrating them with real-world tasks and the current maritime environment. This allows you to immediately apply your knowledge in practice!
Upon completion of the course, you will receive an internationally recognized certificate entitling you to operate sailing yachts up to 24 meters in length. The course distance is up to 120 nautical miles, including adverse weather conditions. The certificate is valid indefinitely and is valid worldwide.
- Duration: Minimum 2 weeks, recommended 3 weeks for complete immersion in offshore navigation - the entire AC passage
- Training Fee: €1,200 per participant (passage is paid separately).
- Additional Fee: Certificate issuance and delivery within Europe - €200.

The Atlantic stage of the journey starts from our home marina, Amarilla Golf, located in the south of Tenerife (15 minutes from TFS airport), with check-in after 16:00. On this day, the crews undergo a briefing, plan their route, and purchase provisions. Depending on the weather forecast, the yachts will set sail towards Madeira either at night or the next day. This picturesque island is the perfect place to spend a few days on land, exploring local attractions. Afterward, the flotilla will head towards Gibraltar, concluding the stage on April 27th in La Linea, on Spanish territory. The nearest airport is in Malaga two hours away by bus. The total distance of this stage is 1000 nautical miles. To participate in the passage, a minimum of one week of experience living and traveling on a sailing yacht is required.
The Mediterranean stage will commence on April 26th from La Linea. The route follows along the Spanish coast, passing through Malaga, Almeria, Cartagena, and the island of Formentera. Stops in cities will be made according to the wishes of the crew members and weather conditions. The journey will conclude on May 4th at our summer base in the old town of Ibiza. The total distance of this stage is 400 nautical miles.
About Siesta
Excess 11 Siesta (65) is a modern and innovative catamaran designed for comfortable cruising. Our catamaran has four cabins with two bathrooms, convertible saloon and 1 forepeak cabin, providing ample accommodation for up to 10 guests and skipper. All beds in cabins are full double beds and the wet areas are also very spacious. The catamaran has a spacious and well thought out interior with light and airy cabins that are well equipped with large windows and plenty of natural light. She also has a fully equipped galley with refrigerator, freezer, gas hob, oven and microwave, allowing you to comfortably spend a week on the catamaran. Outside, the catamaran has a spacious cockpit with a dining table, as well as plenty of space to relax and four sun loungers at the bow and on the roof.

Terms & Conditions
Payments.
For booking, you need to make an advance payment of 50%, the second part of the payment must be made 35 days before the start of the tour.
Cancellations.
If you decide to cancel your booking we reserve the right to charge the following amounts as the penalty for cancellation.
- over 100 days before departure: 20% from the total price of the charter
- 30 - 100 days: 50% of the total price of the charter
- less than 30 days before departure: 100% of the total price of the charter.
In case of cancellation of the charter by the company, we return the full payment to the client.
